Just recently bought a Sigma DP2, very pleased with my initial results.
Unfortunately Qimage does not support this camera.  Is it possible to have this camera supported in Qimage?

I currently save the images in Tiff for printing.

Next week Qimage is being updated to the latest dcraw which includes 18 new cameras.  The DP2 is included.

I have downloaded the latest version of Qimage and the sigma DP2 is not included in the supported cameras.

I am certainly not sure which cameras were added to Qimage Studio on this update, but until Mike can get to read your post and reply, perhaps you can check VIEW in Qimage, and then Thumbnail File Browser, and then Include File Types. Make sure there's a check mark in RAW.
Also double check that you are running Qimage Studio Edition 2010.100

The Sigma DP1/DP2 are not supported by dcraw.  I don't know that David Coffin has any plans to support those cameras.

Although QI does not support my DP1 I still can print using Qimage. In LightRoom I select a X3F (DP1) image and go to <Photo <Edit in <Edit in Qimage. This opens the photo as a Tif in the Preview page of QI and I print from there. There is no Thumb of the image and the image itself in the Preview page disappears when printing starts. The print itself comes out fine.

Hi,

I'm thinking of buying one of the sigma cameras, as I like the concept of the foveon sensor, and having read Mike's article re image quality comparison with the 5d http://ddisoftware.com/tech/articles/may-2007-sigma-sd14-14mp-4-6mp/, and also many other reviews, I think the dp1 or dp2 would match nicely wrt image quality to my current Canon cameras, but in format easier to fit in a pocket. Having just looked at a list of supported cameras on one of the dcraw pages http://www.cybercom.net/~dcoffin/dcraw/ , dcraw appears to support the Sigma SD14, and I am wondering if it now supports the dp1/2, or if by simply changing the file extension, or other minor details, if Qimage could in fact could then read in the dp1/2 raw files as SD14's. I do not know when the list of dcraw supported cameras was last updated.

It appears that Sigma are updating the peripherals/speed of operation, on a regular basis (a third version of the dp1, and a second version of the dp2 recently released), but afaik they are keeping the same sensor for all the foveon based cameras they make, so I have the feeling that the technology may be around for a while.

Oh, a DP2 corner in the forum. We've got a used DP2 two days ago after sorting out a bunch of P&S cameras. Reidreviews has a very good review with image examples from the Panasonic GF1, the Sigma DP2 and the Leica X1. So our choice was a used DP2 for 350 € and not the Leica X1 for 1500 €.

If it helps, MonoVeon from KeithM is a monochrome Foveon X3F Convertor for Sigma, it can be found at http://www.keithmathome.co.uk/monoveon.html
Another software page is from Arvo Jägel (maybe for Mike Chaney) is at http://www.stv.ee/~donq/dcraw.htm - but DP1/DP1s/DP2 cameras are not (yet) supported.

Right now I used Sigma Photo Pro 4 for conversions to monochrome images. The real candy in this software is the X3 Fill Light feature, see http://www.foveon.com/article.php?a=73
