Title: Focus Stacking Software
Post by: Terry-M on November 05, 2018, 11:51:54 AM
I demonstrated my macro techniques at my photographic club last week and we got talking about focus stacking. This prompted me to do some tests.
I already had the free Combine CP program and downloaded trial versions of Zerene Stacker and Affinity Photo.
I took a photographs with a 60mm macro lens of some decorative plant bits in a bowl, one set close up at about 1:4 reproduction ratio, the other true macro at 1:1.
I used the software to combine the images which you can see on Flickr here:

The header of the Flickr Album gives general details and each image has a description giving image details and my comment on how well the software performed.
In summary, Affinity Photo did the best job and was very easy  to use.

I've also attached some small versions of the Affinity resuts here
