I just realized when doing an import of raw files from my CF card that a setting "auto rename photos was checked" and I was able to correct this before returning the CF cards to my cameras. I have always retained the file names generated by my camera.

However the previous import has the "renamed files" Is there a way to revert to the original names. The files are no longer on the CF cards as they were formatted in camera.

I also notice that if I uncheck the auto rename function and exit FlashPipe that it is checked the next time I open FlashPipe. I am using version 117.

You can use the free utility Rename Master from Joejoesoft:
http://www.joejoesoft.com/cms/showpage.php?cid=108
Code:

I can't reproduce that on v115 I'm still using.
Edit: nor on v117, all settings retained on re-opening.
Terry.

Thanks I will try and see if this helps. However it does not provide a solution as to why the settings do not remain as set.

I have checked with the help file and it indicates that the "Auto rename -----" default = unchecked. My version reverts to checked every time I reopen FlashPipe.
Looks like some kind of bug. The date that I did the upload with the name change occured on Jan 3, 2010.

Assuming this was the date you updated FP, I'm not quite clear if that is what you mean ....
That was probably v115 (released on the 2nd) yet your original post said you were on v117.   Huh? This was not released until the 14th January. There are no problems with this feature here on v117  Smiley
I suggest you update to v117.
Terry.

I have updated to 117, I realized the problem when I did an download on the 18th with 117 and was able to correct before removing the files from the CF card. However the previous download on the 3rd the files names were changed.

I am thinking of doing a clean reinstall of FlashPipe. I will use the Windows uninstall function.

What other folders/files would I need to remove before running the most recent install of FlashPipe. My system details are recorded in my signature.
