Whenever I click "Show unread posts since last visit", the result is always zero posts. However, clearly there are some new ones that I have not read.
Any hints as to why this is not working for me?

Thanks!

Ken,
I really don't have an answer, only a question.
Perhaps you inadvertently clicked on Mark all messages as READ?
You can use this reply to test the system again and see if ut is working now.
Otherwise, we wait for Mike.

Nope, I didn't click "Mark all messages as read". So, I'm puzzled.
But thanks for the response!

Since I an really new at forums (my first experience), I don't know the mechanics of it.
I saw that some of the "ills" were cured by deleting the related cookies to the forum.
I can't even tell you if there is such a thing relative to the problem.
Mike will likely be "off" for the holiday weekend, but eventually he will read your post and reply with some helpful suggestion.
Hang in there.

Maybe Mike made a change (??)
If so, thanks Mike!!

I wonder what you did.  "show all unread post..." does not work for me.  Without that feature the forum is useless to me.

I don't know what I did that day. I don't think I did anything differently.
However, it is not working again. Sad

Does anyone have any clue how to get it to work?

I believe everyone who is having trouble is running some sort of cookie monster!  The only way this feature won't work is if your browser is unable to save cookies for the forum.  If you are running a cookie monster that restricts saving of cookies or your virus scanner is set to "filter" certain cookies, that's probably the problem.

Thanks Mike!
You might have hit on the answer. I am running the Firefox cookie manager to block unwanted cookies.
I am not having any problems on other forums where cookies are used.
So, perhaps I am blocking a cookie that is required here.
I am allowing cookies from 'ddisoftware.com', and 'www.ddisoftware.com'. I don't remember being asked by Firefox about how to handle any other cookies for this forum.
Can you tell me if there are any other cookies I need to allow for the forum?

Thanks!!

Mike,
I still am unable to use last posts or replies to my post.  I am using ESET virus software and made sure it is not doing any filtering.  I checked Firefox and even though it was not filtering I specifically allowed DDI.  Still no luck.
What is a cookie monster or was that just a form of humor?

I use FireFox and NOD32 here and have never had a problem, so I would tend to think it isn't either one of those two.  NOD32 does have tons of settings though and because we can't know if ours are the same, I'd suggest disabling the ESET entivirus, going to the forum and then exiting Firefox.  Then you can re-enable the anti-virus.  Then the next time you go to the forum do the same thing: turn off anti-virus first.  If that makes the features work, then it's likely a setting in the anti-virus software.

Oh, and yes, cookie monster was just my attempt at humor.  Wink

"Show unread posts" is working for me this morning!!
I'll post back in a couple of days about whether it is still working.
I didn't do anything differently. I just logged on, and it worked!

When the forum first started, it worked.  Then I just thought there were no new posts, but not the case (although the traffic has dried up considerably ;-(   Checked everything.....maybe there reallr ARE no new posts?Huh?
