Epson 1280on Vista

I have an Epson 1280 that I have been using with Qimage Studio Edition (Ver 268) with great success. However, when I tried to switch to a Vista machine the Epson 1280 installed with a Vista embedded driver and I cannot get the color management to work at all. Has anyone else experienced this and is there a work around?

Worth a try.
I had a 1280, and loved it to death... After the funeral, got an R 1800.

Yes, that is the procedure that I followed. Vista installs its own driver.

Has anyone had color management problems with the Vista driver?

I believe the Epson take has been to leave the printer off when installing the printer. When the printer is on (even XP) Windows wants to take over.

Delete the printer, remove all the drivers when it asks if you want to. Leave the printer off. Start the Epson install (not through the Control Panel). It will come to a point where it asks you to turn the printer on. Do it then. Epson SHOULD be in control at that point.
