Need some advise /help
I'm expecting delivery tomorrow ,and I'd like to get some feedback from any members who actually use this new printer.
For the last 3 years ,I've used the R1800,and was quite happy with the results..
Now,I'm doing some B&W conversions ,so,thought this printer would offer me some better quality ,using the ABW mode.
I use 2 papers,Ilford Smooth Pearl, and Canson Platine, and up tilll now have used the profiles supplied by both manufacturers.
My current pc is a windows7 machine,& of course I print via Qimage Ultimate.
I've read, that when using the ABW mode,it is suggested to use the  the let" printer" handle color??
Whats that all about..Huh?

Any help/suggestions would be appreciated..

Thanks,
Mike

This is the default mode for QU when you do not have a printer profile.
You can read the Help on the feature by going to Edit Preferences, Color Management and from the Printer tab, click F1 to open the Help - or Help, Contents, Functions, Color management.

There were some other posts recently about an Epson printer with similar features to yours and the user found he did not get neutral results unless full CM was used with a printer profile - suck it and see - have fun  Wink

Terry,
Thanks for your reply..
Seems ,if you want to use the ABW mode with the R3000 printer,it is also the Epson default mode...
I'm assuming that when in ABW mode,I'm utilizing all the black ink cartridges, depending on what type of paper I use...Glossy,or Matte?

My question is this:...,wouldn't I get better results, using the paper profile given to me ,by the paper manufacturer, that's what I have been doing ,when I had the R1800.....or,is it all trial & error, with ABW mode?

Please keep in mind,I haven't got the printer yet{should be here tomorrow..??},just trying to get some advise..going to the R3000 is a big upgrade from me.

Thanks Again,
Mike
