I made scanner and camera profiles with PP V6.5 several years ago.  Would profiles made with PP 8.43 from the same target scan/images be any different?  In other words, does the ICC profile generation algorithm in 8.43 apply to scanner/camera profiles, or is it just for printer profiles?

Good question.

I know the new target series has more accurate TXT files that go with it, but using the same old target might not show  a difference.
I would make a new profile, and decide if you could tell old from new.

The profiling algorithm has changed significantly.  Post 8.0 profiles will be significantly more accurate than pre 8.0 profiles regardless of the target used.  This is true for all profiles: camera, scanner, and printer.
