Profile Prism v8.0 (Aug 13, 2013)

    Overview:

Version 8.0 is fully Windows 8 compatible, features an updated (more modern dark gray) UI, and offers more accurate color when creating ICC profiles thanks to advancements in color technology over the last few years.  User friendly tips such as a warning to change old profile descriptions and automatic naming of modified (tweaked) printer profiles will help you along the way as you create the most accurate profiles to date!  Enjoy the subtle color improvements that result from the v7.0 --> v8.0 upgrade and the UI changes that make the software easier than ever to use.  If you print a lot of photos and you create and tweak printer profiles regularly, v8.0 will be well worth the upgrade.

As some of you might have heard, I got a new printer about 5 days ago.
My old workhorse R1800 passed away.

I got a beautiful Epson R 2000 and just when I needed it the most, Mike makes a new Profile Prism.

I have been profiling the 5 papers that I use.... Epson Prem Glossy, Epson Prem. Luster, Ilford Glossy and Ilford Pearl, and HP Advanced Glossy.

My comment was, OH MAMA!
The Epson profiles that come with eh Printer software seem to be printing too dark. They always seem to be too dark.... Using a TEST Image no tweaking of the image, they still are a couple of shades too dark.

That's why I profile even the papers that come with profiles.... now all my prints are: "OH MAMA!"

I am not kidding. Spent all afternoon tweaking and testing.
Worth every moment and all the ink I expended.
No more re-printing needed. Right the first time!

Thanks Mike.

I payed for the upgrade yesterday.

I presume that you email to me the link for downloading. Might I receive it before the weekend?

Also, the download user/pw window associated with Profile Prism v8 refers to QI-U.

Peter

PS Less than an hour later. Link received thanks.

Hi Mike.

I renewed the membership yesterday.
I asked you through the email but have no response from you, that's why I ask here, maybe with more luck.

Thanks.

Presumably the new algorithm applies to 8.43.  Does this improvement apply to camera/scanner profiles too?  Would one be advised to generate new camera/scanner profiles using Version 8?
