Thought that I would bring this up in case others run into this.  I have never seen this problem before.  It was hard to find out what it meant by searching the Microsoft Technet forum.

After creating a profile, the files were being saved in the program directory.  I went to the directory so that I could move it to the windows "Color" directory.  But the file wasn't showing up in the directory.  It took me a while to find out what was happening.  I noticed there was a new menu item in Windows Explorer called "compatibilty files".  I clicked on this option and all the profiles suddenly appeared.  This was strange and I have never seen this before.  The solution to the problem was to create a new directory in the Prism directory and copy and paste the files to the new location.  After copying the files they were visible in normal explorer window.

I searched the net and found the following resource : http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/windows_vista-files/windows-explorer-compatibility-files/5b377209-cfe4-4be6-959d-e1de4b8be16d .

I'm not sure why this happened on my PC.  I am running Windows 7 Pro 64 bit OS.  PP doesn't use any virtulization in the profile creation as far as I can see.  I do not use virtualization applications that I use.  I do have VMware installed on my PC but rarely use it and I only have one virtual PC application for Windows XP that I have used from time to time byt certainly not lately.

Oh well if anyone else runs into this maybe this info will help.

In future, in the PP File name box, browse to the C:\Windows\System32\spool\drivers\color folder and name your profile. By doing that it will be saved in the correct place immediately.

Now that I have been generating good profiles I am saving them directly to the windows profile directory.  I just thought I would share the issue since it is so unusual.
