First off, this is probably not a Qimage problem as such.  I get similar results from LR 2.4 when I allow it to manage colors.  I turn off printer color management by setting the "Application managed colors" option in the printer driver and select the proper printer/paper profile in Qimage Studio.  The resulting print is horrible - weak color, no reds, looks almost like a grayscale, except greenish yellow.  If I allow the printer to do color management and turn it off in Qimage, I get a pretty good looking print.  It seems to me I may be getting double profiling in spite of using the printer option to disable color management.  The OS is Windows Vista Home Premium SP2 with Qimage Studio 2009.266 and current HP software/driver.  HP tech support was not helpful.  Any suggestions?

What profile are you using and where did it come from?  Some profiles are not meant to be used outside the driver and can only be used with printer managed color.  Any profile that is worthwhile will come with instructions on the exact settings to use in the driver.  Without knowing how to set the driver options, a printer profile is useless.  The only benefit you can get out of non-specific profiles is to do what you are doing and just let the driver handle it.

Well, two sources.  The ones for the HP papers came directly from HP.  The ones for Red River papers came from the HP printer users forum.  I didn't know profiles could only be used in the driver.
