Title: Set up Printing format...
Post by: jacken on July 02, 2014, 01:07:38 PM
I am trying to print 8x6" prints each with 4 photos on with file numbers beneath and watermarked. These I want to print on a3+ sheets with trim marks.
Any ideas how i'd do this?

Thanks

John

John,
The printable area (although you didn't say which printer) Is 16.302 x 11.458
The 6" side doubled is 12". Wont fit like that on A3
Either use larger paper, or a slightly smaller size print.

John is using A3+ (plus) paper which is 13x19", room for 4 8x6 prints.

John, Fred will point you in the right direction.

Thanks, Brian.
I am not tuned to the European sizes.   Here I buy something called Super B, or just 13 x 19.
The error sat there for a month?

Don't even know if John still needs the help???

Thanks, really. Terry tried to educate me, but I'm too old to adapt.

I get a Skype from Terry that starts:  "Good afternoon!  Hope you are OK Fred, It's BEASTLY HOT here. It's 23 degrees"

To start a conversation with me like that is similar to reversing gravity.

Then we do the: "When are you going to learn to drive on the right side of the road?"
I do drive on the right side (correct side). It's you chaps that got it wrong?

Then I tell him that his mustache is crooked. Then he tells me I spelled mustache wrong. It should be moustache.
Then I tell him he spelled Colour wrong....   and so on

That is the correct designation for the paper. The so-called A3+ is not an ISO 216 "A" size at all but an American standard, ANSI B with a 1" margin for print bleed.
Google A3+ and you will see the confusion there is about this size in the UK.
There you are, I can be sympathetic to American ways!  ;D

Sympathies Fred. Terrible what our British cousins have done to our language.

Suggest you stay away from Skype, and just keep to written email to avoid the tomato/tomato thing and worse.

This is an ongoing horror story with my English family.

Best

Roy S.

PS - 8 x 6 4up should print on A3+ if his printer permits borderless setting, and depending how large the trim marks are.

As well as suffering from your American spelling  :), we're now suffering from one of your hurricanes - Bertha has brought lightning and torrential rain to London (and elsewhere)

Sorry about that, Brian, but it appears that old Bertha was born as a Tropical Wave off the coast of west Africa.
Cannot see how you could put the blame on us, and more specifically, me, who lives in Florida.
Everyone knows, if there's a hurricane worth having, we keep ours in Florida.
Bertha must be the black sheep of the family!
Notice, Terry must be of tougher stuff. He never complains about anything except me.
