With the newer versions of QI, I notice that there is a "insert page" option when I right click on the page showing the photos in the que.  It appears that it only provides a divider page for printing, or am I wrong?  I'd like to add a page in the middle of a multi-page project and add some more photos.  These are photos that I overlooked when I first went thru my setup.  Any help?

Have a look at page 134 of the pdf manual, access on-line from Help.
This tells you how to add images in the "middle" of the queue by dragging. You don't have to insert a page first.

Hmm, I can't make that work, sorry, I should have checked first.
One for Mike I think.

Terry,
I can insert page, but I never knew why I would want to.
If I forgot an image, and I do often, I simply add it to the queue, and then highlight the filename in the queue, and using the arrow keys on the keyboard, position that image in the order I wanted it to appear by clicking the up or down arrow..
As you said, Terry, one for Mike.

Fred, I know that I can do it that way.  My problem is I forgot an entire section!  I need to add about a dozen photos.  I already have a 30 page print que with 4 photos per page, and the new photos need to be added after page 17!  I was hoping the "add page" thing would be just what the doctor ordered!
Any suggestions Mike?

Chuck
I must be miising some critical item.
I have been trying to insert a page and add images to it and no matter what I do, that page falls last in the group.
I have even turned each page into Freehand mode, and no help there.
I'm afraid; "This is a job for SUPERQ"  AKA Mike

I know there's probably a way to edit... but I left this out before.

"Insert page" is for when you are in Freehand placement mode.  It doesn't make any sense in other modes due to the automatic pagination.  In Freehand mode, you can insert a page and then immediately drag a thumbnail and drop it onto the new/blank page.  If you don't drag/drop a thumbnail onto the blank/inserted page right away, Qimage removes the blank page to avoid blanks in the print job.  Now, if you are in any other placement mode (optimal, centered, compact, etc.) you insert prints by dragging thumbnails and dropping them onto existing prints on the preview page.  If you drop thumbnail(s) onto the left half of an existing print, those images are added before the print you dropped them on.  If you drop them on the right side of an existing print, they are inserted after that print in the queue.

I was too slow and not inserting the new image fast enough!
Thanks, Mike!

I'm still not able to get this to work.  I made page 1 "freehand" and page 2 "freehand".  I right-click "insert page" and quickly try to add a photo.  Not only does the inserted page disappear, but the photo was added to page 1!
What am I doing wrong?

Yes, I thought so by using the little button top right of the preview.
BUT, got it now, you need to use the main Placement button below and select Freehand there.  Grin

Of course, that little button does freehand for that page only, the main one with the drop-down list, does ALL pages.  Embarrassed
