                                                                                                           Let's Albumize
Albumize=Categorize!

Object!
Let's say you finally decided to make "coffee table" photo album.... of what?
A trip to an exotic place?
The past holiday get-togethers?
A safari to Lincolnshire, UK?

You need to gather the shots of the category  you chose.
But, "There's the Rub" (A dip of the toe into the Avon River)
The shots of a category might be strewn  over many years and many folders.

**Hint: Make it a habit when looking at any folder of thumbnails in Qimage, to find your favorite/best shots, and TAG them by adding a word or two to the little blue "i" on the thumbnail.
You can start now... open any folder from any previous shoot and tag the shots.

Permit me to do a little show and tell about how I might tackle it.
Remember to click Full Screen when viewing and it will be HD.
Enjoy

Thanks,
Fred

How did you know I started mapping out a photo album yesterday??

I have I hope worked out a way of saving a template so all photos have a consistent layout and format.

Just looked at video.

Small point the Schooner would be called a Ketch this side of pond.  Main mast taller than Mizzen mast which is stepped forward of rudder post. If the mizzen had been stepped aft of the rudder post it would have been a yawl.

It is likely all named the same on either side as sailing is international.
But, I wouldn't know a Schooner from a Ketch to a Galleon.
So I stand or sit corrected.

See the attached map of some of the streets or lanes, and see the names.

OK

Here is what I have created.

Intention all prints to be on A4 Landscape.

Left margin 1.01 to allow for binder.

Top margin 0.50 Right margin 0.68

Bottom margin 0.75 to allow room for image title etc

Gives a image size of 10 x 7.02

Saved as a job.

Next time open job remove previous image and insert new and amend text.
Or remove image before saving job. just the layout then saved.

Appears to work, until Fred suggest some thing better.

Jeff

Modified and simplified my MO.

Created a custom image size of 10 x 7.02

Then in full page Editor enter values in print location of 0.50 for top margin and 1.01 for left margin.

Got a bit of issue with floating text.  $c $o $a $s $r always drops down about 3 or 4 lines and sometime has to be run a number of times before text spears on print.

See screen shot

Hi Jeff
I can repeat what you show...
I'll pass it on to Mike.
Good catch
In the meantime, to avoid the dropping down problem, clear the old text from the box so it says Sample, and then click OK.
Now start fresyh and it wont do it.

Just talked to Mike.
What I did to repeat whet you describe as the shutter etc coming out on a lower line, and he explained that is all correct.
The text operates like a word processor and it has a Line Feed in there that you do not see.
So you can use the Back space key, and clean it off.

But Mike asked: Are you getting 3 or 4 lines of blank drop down? We can only get one.
He also asked if you mean it creeps down an extra line by itself?
Give steps from when you open Floating text until you click OK and have the blank drop problem.

Thanks,
Fred

Done another effort.

the entry "$c$o$a$s" drops down to 4th line,  but after a few efforts is not dropping one line.

Backspacing gets the entries on to first line.  That solved.
However, text does not appear on the print.  Just get the position dot.  move it around nothing there.

Clear all.  Try again and enter  "Rubbish  $c$o$a$s
$c $o $a $s"

Only Rubbish appears on print!!!!

Again will have to return to subject later.

Now off for a bit of a Chaney health check.  Blood test.  They may try a Chaney whisky based line feed

You must have a tick in: Link to - Print, and the print selected.
See screen shot below.

Many thanks

That was the problem, no tick in "link to - print"

The regular text was working without the tick.  It does not take much to confuse me.

I will book A Chaney Eye test.  The whisky line feed was very nice and soon got the blood alcohol count up a acceptable level.

Coffee Book coming along nicely.

Tip for when text is linked to image:
Right click on the print for the context menu and select Add Floating Text from there (near the bottom of the list).
That automatically ticks the box.
