I shoot RAW almost all the time now, but it seems my real skills are in rearranging photos after the fact. I would love to be able to print finished prints right out of the camera, but it never seems to work that way. I use Paint Shop to straighten, change prospective, combine with other photos, etc.., and print.  I currently import 16 bit .TIF file from AfterShot into Paint Shop. Working in 16 bit seems to give me noticeably better results than working in 8 bit.  Qimage Ultimate seems to be the best RAW (Nikon D700 .nef) processing program when it comes to color and clarity that I have used.  The only drawback with Qimage Ultimate is that it only save a processed photo in 8 bit.

My wish is that 16 bit TIF compressed and/or 16 bit TIF uncompressed be added to Qimage Ultimate’s save to file choices.
