Hello
When printing on canvas roll and cropping the paper length it would be great if Qimage automatically set paper length longer to accommodate the extra shrink compensation % needed.

hope that makes sense!
Thanks

Hi,
Are you aware that QU has a canvas shrinkage compensation for the PRINT size? see attached screen shot.
I'm not sure if that helps at all.

Hello Terry,
Absolutely! Which is my point...

I crop the page size to fit the image using 'set paper length' (ctrl-w) and then go to print - But - because I have the Canvas Shrink Compensation set to accommodate the shrinkage QI gives me an error saying that I need to increase the size of the page to accommodate the bigger size of the image... (see attachment)

I then have to manually adjust the size of the page - which I usually add on half an inch - which is just a guess but quick.

My suggestion is that QI automatically adds the extra on to the page length to accommodate the bigger image size rather than just telling me that I need to.

It already accounts for the canvas shrink when setting the page length but you should set your canvas shrink value before using the set page length feature.  The only time I can get a problem is if I have canvas shrinkage compensation set to zero, do the set page length, and then enter a canvas shrink value of 0.75 afterward.  Are you setting the shrink compensation before using the set page length feature?

Regards,
Mike

Hi Mike,
yes, you're right...
I've just tried and indeed if the shrink compensation is set before the paper length is set then it takes into account the extra %

but not if it's set after... which is how I've been doing it. Maybe I need to change my workflow Smiley
