I would like the option to lock an image or apply a page background image.
I am creating a digital photo scrapbook - it will contain photos as well as cuttings from newspapers/magazines.
I want a page background with maybe 20% transparency to give some texture as opposed to a plain page background.
I would like to use qimage because of the ability to lighten/straighten/crop etc. with the page editor.
The alternative, for me, is Indesign in which I can place and lock a background image but I will need to edit the images externally before placing

You can already have a page background: you can create a layout with a background image that fills the page and templates for prints on top.  Qimage doesn't support partial transparency, however so once prints are added to the layout, they would just be on top of the background image.

Regards,
Mike

Thanks for the reply. Unfortunately I don't think that will work for me as I intend having a different background on over a hundred pages - basically I intend to use one of the photos that will be on the page enlarged and faded. Maybe I should re-think!

I don't understand what the problem is.  I have done exactly what you are saying numerous times.  I often take a pattern jpeg, or monochrome photo and add extreme brightness to fade it and then lay the prints on top.  I then print these as album pages. Is there an aspect of what you want to do that I am missing?

Thank you MelW - that kinda' works.
I presume I need to create a copy of the 'background' image as I can't have the same image with and without a filter. I would still like the ability to lock an image location though
