Dear Mike,

We have been using Qimage for for quite a few years now, so the job log has grown to over 65K entries. This means searching trough the log can sometimes take over half a minute.
Of course it would be great to somehow get faster search results, but I would already be helped out with a progress bar and and/or a prompt window with the number search results.

Also it would be very helpful to be able to choose from an isolated list of search results, aside form the current highlighted results in the complete job log.

Sounds like some good ideas.  I'll have to check into the feasibility and what can be done.

Regards,
Mike

Thanks for looking into it!

It can especially be confusing when you switch to another task while waiting for a search to complete, to get back and not be sure if search is still going on or gave no results or maybe you've made a typo...  Would be helpful to implement some level of feedback.

Dear Mike,

Did you have a chance to look at this?

Even a simple [no results] prompt would already be a first step forward.

Thanks!

Just above the thumbnails, there is a rendering counter. You can watch the count or it will show it has finished.

I don't see this when doing a search in Job Log... probably not talking about the same thing.

Any luck in upcoming updates?

I made some changes to make the search quite a bit faster in the release of 2023.100.  Have you tried it lately?

Yes, it seems a bit faster. Now I clock about 14 seconds for an anerage search on AMD 5800X with Samsung Pro980 NVME SSD, trough 68K entries.

Still would be nice to have a info message in popup or sidebar like '0 items found' or '27 items found'.

Thanks!
