Title: "edit page" anomaly
Post by: ckaza on July 25, 2021, 03:51:52 PM
In "freehand" mode when in "edit page" display and have overlapping photos, selecting the one underneath and right-clicking on "bring to top" sends that photo to the next page instead of keeping the same position but above the other. Selecting the top one and clicking "Send to bottom" works as expected--the upper one now overlaps under the other.  Is this a program error or do I have a computer malfunction?

Sir, It works perfectly here on main page as well as Edit Page.
I am using version 2021.106. Placement  F for Freehand.

Additional thought.

The menu has BRING  TO TOP just below  PUSH to Next Page almost touching.
Maybe mouse cursor too close to PUSH?

Another thought: You can use CTRL A after selecting the image and see if that works for you.

Tried the keyboard shortcut. didn't work. Also tried: JPG vs CR2 raw, using the main page view instead of edit view, reinstalled current version of Qimage, installed oldest version I have-- qu20-118--problem persists. Hauled out my laptop. It worked on a much older version but not on current version. Unfortunately, didn't write down that old version number and don't have the file--I store most of my filers on an NAS drive.

I think that is the wrong short cut - it's CTRL Up arrow.
All works OK here, bring to top etc. version 2021.106

Control Up is for use on the main page layout and Control A is correct for the edit page screen.

FWIW, I have the same thing happen as ckaza states in the original post.  Bring to Top blows the photo to the next page. I have never worried about it since there are other ways to accomplish this; but that is how it worked for me, although I haven't used it recently. But, I am thinking that when I last tried this, there were many, many pictures on the page, not just the two.

Just tried it with 4 6x4ins (150x100mm) on an A4 page. No problems whatsoever.

I have a load of older versions, and I actually installed two old ones and all works fine.It makes me wonder about recent W 10 updated.I have had 4 in the past 3 weeks. Every one of them created some new anomaly with a lot software.

This may take very specific circumstances to replicate so we may need a screen shot showing the setup.  I tried a lot of different ways with varying amounts of photos and it always works and never puts a print on the next page.

Mike

Will do but need to be more specific. Full main page? Which tab showing on the far right window? Edit page?
Appreciate the help.

Further exploration results:
Going to Help tab and doing a full reset solves the issue.

Playing around with various job files --save or recall, it seems  The job I had been using when the problem occurred changed something that affected any jobs loaded after that one.

I hope I'm right.
Thanks all for chiming in.

I can't replicate it.  This is good. To use a term coined by Roger Clemens, perhaps I mis-remembered.
