I am just reworking the buddy file definition in IMatch (DAM-tool)

Qimage creates 2 types of buddy files:
 *.flt for filters
and
*.qrs for raw-data processing.

But why is the basic-name extended by an "_"?
For example:
- PK5_3802_10.DNG has a Qimage buddy file PK5_3802_10_.DNG.qrs
- PK5_3802_10.jpg has a Qimage buddy file PK5_3802_10_.jpg.flt

This additional "_" does not make any sense to me. It makes buddy file definition more complicated.

The correct definition of the buddy files is necessary within IMatch. Otherwise IMatch cannot not rename/move/copy/delete the buddy files if the original(master) file is renamed/copied/moved/deleted.

Any reason for this "_"? Bug or feature?

I really would like to help you, but the qrs and flt files are germane to Qimage Editors, and are not recognized nor can they be used by any other software from another company.
Similarly, Photo shop sidecar or buddy files are only read by Photo shop....
If you want the editor changes to be incorporated into the file that you want to port to another program, simply right click on teh image in the queue. Then select Create Image, and make a TIF or a JPG.
That created file will have all the editing as part of the new image with no buddy files needed.

Fred,
that's right.
No other program can make use of the information within these buddy files.
But I just want to configure IMatch to delete all buddy files if I delete the "master" file.
Otherwise these buddy files are left in the directory just as garbage. I do not want to clean up y hand.

I really don't expect Qimage to change configuration since it has been operating with flt for 14 years.
It sounds more like you want to contact iMatch for a solution.
There are outside programs such as "Total Commander" and its ilk. That allows you to select files using *.... etc.. Then you can select all files with a *.qrs or *.flt
Best I can think of...
Sorry!

Winfried,

I have attached my IMatch settings for nef- and dng-files.

Works perfectly for me.
