I think my jpgs are coming out with an inbedded Panasonic DMC-GH2 profile as they don't look right when I convert them to HTML. They say they have that profile in the files so I guess that is the problem.

Where do I set up QU to convert them to sRGB please?

I think I can make the HTML converter make the change but I can see problems with repro houses if the files have the wrong profile in them.

Thanks in anticipation.

How are you making the JPGS?
If you select the thumbs and right click to Make Web copies, they automatically convert to RGB
If you use the CONVERT IMAGES from the queue side, you have to set the default to make a profile to Profile conversion.

I think I already sent you the convert screen setup a few days ago,
See snap.   You need to put a check in PERFORM PROFILE TO PROFILE CONVERSION.
If you need it that way often, then set that as the default. Click on the blue set as default.

Thanks Fred,

I don't want to go straight to Web copies as I need 80% jpgs for subsequent repro use. I then make my web folders from them using Breeze Browser.

I see what you mean about the Profile to Profile conversion. I'll do that tomorrow.

Sundown here in the Motherland.

You didn't specify so I had to give you both choices...

As to making a folder...

You must be joking!
Right in the middle of the dialogue box that is already open, where you check for Profile to Profile conversion, is the destination folder... where you can type, browse, or create a new folder...
You shock me at times....

" where you can type, browse, or create a new folder..."

Which is what I do. I create a folder called 80%. It holds my 80% jpgs.

From them I create my web folder with Breeze and which creates a sub folder called 'html' and that is what goes to the web.

My 80% folder retains the files that may/will be reproduced. I like it pre-prepared as it saves time when the requests come through.

I've been doing that all the time. My worry was that these jpgs seem to have a profile that looks wrong - and which you explained last week when you sent me some with that GH2 profile and then some with sRGB. My question was how you did it.

Fred,

The <input>. Is that something you typed in or does it come from a dropbox that I have yet to find?

The sRGB for output I can find in the folder you have also picked.

EDIT. I have done a test with and without the conversion to sRGB when making an HTML web folder. The difference is staggering. I'll post an example later today - on the internet so people can see the effect via HTML.

Yes, that is what you type in. It is easier than locating and selecting the it manually..
<Input> will take care of it all.

RGB is the correct match for a monitor so you can see what happens if you deviate.  You don't want people to think you are a deviant, do you?

Greetings Fred,

Yes, I am in danger of becoming a deviant for bumping such an old thread..........

I called it up as my RAW converting was not working and yes I'd got that panel changed somehow.

We need a tick in that Perform Profile box.

Why did you choose to do screen shots without a tick? Is it because you wanted to draw attention to the fact we can make it a 'default'?

Sorry to be such a bore.

Trust all is well in the sunny climes. We were in Fort Lauderdale around Christmas - lovely spot.

Bye and Good Health.

You are never a bore... qalways a pleasure.

The tick mark or no tick mark is a user preference. There are times that one would want to make a TIF or a JPG and keep it in the same color space as the original.
You can change the default also if you wish.

Did you notice that Terry got pictures of HRH who was visiting Rugby?  (n You either were in Florida or you slipped up)

Thanks Fred,

Yes, I saw the HRH pictures. Fun assignment.

Just heard that one of my godsons is working for Mario Testino. That's a fun job I would think. It'll be interesting to see my the lad turns into being a good photographer.

Bye again.

Like Terry, of course.

I guess Terry would also like to have similar material to work on. Even knocks the spots off royalty!

But Testino is not bad on HRHs either. I guess it was his Princess Diana shots that put him on the UK map - and he has some lovely shots of Prince Charles feeding his livestock in the shiniest pair of brown brogues I have seen in years.

I googled that Testino fellow.
Very impressive.
Looks like he works out of Los Angeles.
