Thanks Fred. Any advantage to running Windows 8? Seems like things are more "hidden" in Windows 8. Benchmark tests I have seen say performance is similar to Windows 7.

This was my first impression of W 8

http://ddisoftware.com/tech/computer-software/windows-8-over-vista-don't/msg12848/#msg12848

It is W7 with a kid's toy overlay.
Everytime I try it again, I have to click the icon to put me back into a W 7 screen desktop, so I know where I am.

Whatever icon I click on.... MUSIC, it sends me to a place to BUY songs... Pictures, goes to a camera store...

My first impression hasn't changed at all....
It's like taking your car in for an Earl Sheib paint job, and telling everyone you bought a new car!

Remember Earl Sheib?
From Wiki:
Scheib's policy of one-day service and production line techniques flew directly into the face of state-of-the-art professional Auto Body standards and caused the company to become a national joke at the time.
Scheib was plagued with a high employee turnover rate due to the demands of attempting to paint up to five cars a day. The company's main criterion in hiring and promoting management trainees was based on sales skills only. Knowledge of auto body repair or painting techniques was not required. Trainees underwent a short training period and were then assigned to their own shops. Managers who failed to increase sales for three successive months were fired, regardless of seniority.

I have loaded Qimage Ultimate on a new Windows 8 machine that Santa Clause brought me early and it is running great.  I have yet to have run into any problems, and I am liking it very much on Windows 8, even though I kept my older Windows 7 system just in case.

Are you running it as W8, or are you clicking teh icon that says "Desktop" which takes us back to W7?

Maybe I'm just to set in my ways, and it is really a good OS?

Glad you like it.

In case you want W8 to start with your familiar W7 desktop, get "classic shell". You also get your start button. You can download it for free from http://classicshell.sourceforge.net/

Hi Fred
Merry Christmas!!!
I am running Qimage Ultimate under Windows 8, and I am really liking the way that it runs.  The only time that I go into the desktop is when I run Internet Explorer, I do not like the Internet Explorer in Windows 8.  I really like running everything under Windows 8, my other system is Windows 7, but I am thinking about updating that to Windows 8 as well.
