Just exploring the data base feature.

I have looked at the video three times.  I must say very well covered.

Just one thing.   How do we manage the data base when we have images on two disks?  A main working disk synchronised to a second backup disk.

EG. K: drive main working.   L: drive synchronised back up.
Folder - RB Photo Shoot containing many photos one of which is tagged 'Glamour'  (same folder and photos on both disks - exact copies'

If I switch off the K: drive and test search, nothing is found which is what I would expect.  So if K: fails has the db gone t--s up? or is there a way to reference both drives to the db?

Of course at this stage I am working on legacy images.

Over the last 20years I have never had a drive fail, I mostly change to a new drive every two years or so,  but a failure is bound to happen sometime.

Easy Peasy, as they say in the UK.

Three ways.

If you use Flash Card Copy Move, and are copying your card to two or three drives at that time, simply put in the tag words in there, and they go to all copies.

If you rather do it later, as I do, because I like to tag images as well as folder....especially in your case. (I've seen some of your sky shots of the Himalayas)
I would want to tag those images!!  
So now that I have folder and images all tagged, I use FCCM, but this time I use the Copy Folder Feature to copy  from my C:\Pics\Zoo to my D:\Pics\Zoo.
Flash Card Copy Move will move the tags too.

There's a BACKUP your data base feature now in Q Ultimate. You find it under Utilities.

So should you lose teh DB, you can restore from your last back up of the DB

Using the FCCM serves two purposes. Not only will you copy the DB tags, but you will also copy the QRS and flt filters so you can retrieve lost images with all the accoutrements in place from the  work you did.

I just checked for you. There's an old video which shows how to do this .... you can jump to about 5 minutes into the video to save time with stuff you probably know.

Just been allowed to get back on 'puter and sort out using FPipe for backup, now got Wflow established.  As you said easy peasy, I was down a dead end looking for something far more complicated.

I must admit I often talk out of top of my head but I cannot believe I told you a Himalayas porky. I just would not do such a thing ;) ;)

Attached is the nearest I have been to flying, Mont Blank range, supposedly the longest single span cable car in world, but then the French would say that.  I was praying there were not American low flying jets in the area :) :)

Jeff, not making a career out of your Himalaya shot, but it had no cables, and there was a part of a wing of the plane (small plane) in teh edge of the shot as if you took it from the side window in the left hand seat.

One day, when we are reincarnated, and return as rabbits doing one thing or another all day long, you might remember that picture.
