While arranging pictures on pages to print to file, I discovered that inserting Floating Text and then printing I could not edit the Floating Text in QU. Trying to click on the dot above the text only resulted in getting the crossed-arrows to move the picture. What is preventing me from editing the text?

Using QU v202.

You've forgotten about that other mouse button  Grin
Right click when the little hand shows with the mouse is over the dot.

Hi Don,
Try a Right mouse click on the blue dot.
That should fix it.

The little hand does not show, only the cross-pointers. Right-click produces the drop-down menu. I'm at a loss for an answer.

Sorry, gentlemen! Fount the answer and it was to right-click and "Send to back (below)". The picture apparently was on top of the Floating Text. Thanks for trying.

That is impossible as far as I know. No way can I hide floating text by an image; it is ALWAYS on top.
Send to back etc. only applies to images on the page.
However, if the text is linked to a image on the page and you move it around on the page, the text stays in the same relative position to the image so can in fact disappear off the page but not go behind another image.

Terry and I compare notes quite often mainly because the question might be interpreted differently by Terry compared to me.
This time, I could not make the condition occur whereby floating text was covered up, so I emailed Terry.
We were in agreement, and further to the point, if I try to cover the text by dragging an image over the top of the text, the text jumps to the top image anyway.

Try it for fun.

The impossible is harder to achieve. I will find out with the pictures I have to do. Thanks!

After adding floating text to 22 photos without problem I now have one that I cannot edit, the little hand does not appear. Thinking it may edit anyway with the "add", now there are two which I can't select ( red or blue dot). I went on to the next photo which worked normally. Something seems to be locking up in the software. I haven't closed and reopened the program yet to see if it will clear.

Don, Save the JOB. Then close Qimage, and reopen. Then recall the job.
See what you get.

If that is still NG, then reboot the computer, open Qimage and recall the JOB.

Fred, to further complicate the issue, after restarting the computer, opened Qimage, loaded the job, same problem remains. Further, having two picture on each page, the top picture's text can't be selected, bottom OK. Can't think of anyother information to give you other than there are 41 photos and 21 pages.

Don,
I need to replicate what you are doing.
These two statements above are not aligned to me.
Do you get 21 OK and then on 22 and further, you have a problem?

Or is it now, as in the second quote, top picture on each page cannot be selected.... furthermore, the text can't be selected or the top picture cannot be selected.

Fred, initially the first quote was correct. After rebooting the second quote is correct, the text with the top picture cannot be selected with picture selected or not. As stated previously I have 42 pictures on 21 pages.

The picture with the initial problem has two floating text due to my trying to fix it. I cannot open and edit either one, will the text be deleted if I remove the picture from the queue?

Don,
You are simply placing two on a page with an overlap, or are you using a template that you previously made.?
I am trying to reconstruct!

See snap
