I am new user and am trying to use the demo version.
The videos don't seem to agree with the real version I have.

I don't gave a zebra button on the thumbnails like everyone else. It's a,real pain to compose a,page with different sizes. Can't get orientations to agree.
I don't get a cropping window where I can see the page layout whick makes it very hard to custom size pieces.

Mostly I wish it woukd act like all the videos I've watched.

Hi drjim
We apologize for the issue you are encountering, but Qimage Ultimate evolves and updates so often that videos are like John Wayne movies.
The zebra button was dropped and replaced by the three tab system, with one tab devoted to sizes.
See snap
Some features are current but User iteface improves as Mike, owner and author, responds to requests for improvements.
So, what can we do about it.?

I offer three suggestions.

(First I must inform you taht this forum is unique. We do not have nasty people on here that reply to a question like other forums. "Dont waste my time. Go look it up")

We all ty to help ourselves and even when it calls for repeating an answer three times a week; it's quite OK
You will see that many of us that have used Qimage for years, still ask how do I do that; I forgot!!

Suggestion
1) Ask here specifically what you are trying to do. You will get a reply very quickly with screen snaps to help.

2) Go to the category called Qimage Challenges.
From 41 to 82 have videos aimed at the topic.
Earlier than 41, are still very sharp and worth viewing.

3) Please let me/us know what is confusing you at this moment. (ALL OF IT?)
Seriously, there are people on here (I for one) who will be happy to make a dedicated video for you, explicitly for your question.
(Love to do it)
Can post it on the forum or can send it to you directly.

Please, please, let us help.  You are not imposing....
Fred

In your post, please repost with specifics. "I am trying to put 3 prints on one 13" x 19" page. The print sizes are different from each other; one is 5 x 7, one is 4 x 6, and the other 8 x 10. and i want them to be all vertical as they are when I got them ready to print"
I want the the little girl to be top  left... and.......
Something like that.

Ok Jim
Waiting fior your reply.

Oh my,
I was in such a hurry to reply, that I forgot the most important suggestion.

Each item on your screen has a little red V. Click those for a more updated video.

See screen snaps.

Thanks Fred.

At what point in time was the zebra button removed?

I've yet to see a video without it. And those have other features

Like a cropping panel which simultaneously let's you see the page placement. Now I get a large panel of the original image and a crop zone but I have to exit before I see the results in the page.

As a beginner maybe it's better for me to not watch videos which are outdated until I can navigate the real version.

I think it was early August when the new screen came out.

Cropping Panel?
You can crop your image in the Image editor, or the Page editor where you can crop the print.
Page editor, cropping tab, slide small image around. Large image will follow.

Fred
PS click the red V on the open PRINT TAB

Ok Jim,
Let's start over.
I asked for some specifics on a task that you would like to accomplish easily.
So far, I have received nothing from you.
My plan is always to reproduce what the user is trying to accomplish and walk through it with you.
This way, you get to succeed, and with hands on, step by step, you get to learn how the program works, and it will amaze you.
I am willing to stay with you post by post, and I will make a video for you of how to accomplish what you need, and if you are in teh US or Canada, I wilol be happy to walk through with you on the telephone.

But!!  You have to help too by supplying what  specifics are requested.

Take your choice,   Posting, Custom videos or telephone?

Hang in there drjim ... this a wonderful program that takes some time to explore all the features.

It's new for me also ...

Ask a specific question and experts here will give a detailed answer.

That's the full page editor where more detailed refinements of the page are made.  It's actually one of the buttons that hasn't changed: it's the "Edit Page" button (button with magnifying glass) under the live view on the main screen.
