Hi Russ,
Sounds li8ke you need a printer setting reset.
See snap 011 showing the Settings tab, and that little orangey colored  curvy arrow to reset the printer. You get that box.
Snap 012 shows the HELP dropdown menu and reset printer.
To Reset Qimage, Hold the SHIFT KEY down as you open QU ....
Fred
PS Sounds like you either added a PLUS border and it would not fit and you clicked OK anyway, or you have a check in the driver to Scale THE SIZE  of the print

The images look the same.
The preview or Live view screen looks a bit odd as I do not see any sign of a print on a page. which can be normal if you are FIT TO PAGE.
So it would be super if you would tell me the paper size, the print size and any borders?

See screen snaps.
Paper size with printable area and ppi
Print size on tag
Click on the QUEUE tab and report the size shown in there... (print size)
Fred   or Email the image to me wathree.ssz@verizon.net

Russ, I meant to add that the preview picture does show a little cropping on the left, but that is probably due to the print size being a di8fferent aspect ratio from the image size..... e.g.  image 3:2  and print 8.0 x 10; aspect 4:5
You can slide that into place in the Print Editor

Hi, Fred. As you can see I am not a computer wiz so really do not no how to get images as you did!! but did manage these two.
As you can see I hope my printer settings are OK and the image does not go outside the small box on the right however when I place the image in the Que for printing it is inside the box but does not look A3 size as set in the printer on image one. If I click either fit to paper or page the image gets croped out on the Left side.
Thanks
Russ
PS:- I notice that if you click on the uploaded images they do not show the whole image but right click open in new tab they do. :(

Hi Russ,
I see what you are doing... This is one of those easy peasy things (once the  light bulb lights in your head)
1) Aspect ratio. Out of most digital cameras; 3:2.
1a) That means the left to right dimension (landscape orientation) is 3 and top to bottom; 2.
2) Now the tricky part.    You say 3 what? Two what?
I say number of pixels left to right , divided by the vertical pixel count.
I say inches of print dimension.
You say: I still don't get it.
I say: If you made a print 6 x 4, there would be no cropping and the entire image fits the print. (Multiple of 3:2)
Now you want to make a fit to page on A3 paper. Looking at the top of the live view picture, you see the printable area.
Divide the large inches by the smaller inches, and you get 1.42:1  or 2.8: 2.... That's OK
Now if we toss that original 3:2 image into a print area that is 2.8:2, it is the wrong shape.  Now the real confuser.
You crop the image in the Editor, and all bets are off.... what ratio did you crop to? I don't know either.

Solutions:    1 and 2

Solution 1 is to click the auto crop scissor to on. Now Qimage will fill out your print size request. It must crop the print in order to fill out the size request because the  cropped image dimensions are not the same as the printable area dimensions.
But in doing so, you lost a piece of petal off the edge.
The cure... Open PRINT EDITOR and select cropping tab. Snap 021 shows where I lost 1/4 of the baboon face off the right edge. It also shows the cursor as a hand. I drag that image to the left and center that face. Let go. The big image resets to match.
All done....

Solution 2
You want to print a fit to page A3 print and have no aspect issues later on.
Simply type in those printable  sizes at the top of the preview, or in a case where you want a set size like 11 x 14 or 13 x 19..... you type in teh print size into the CROP LOCK box in the image editor, check the Crop Lock ON.
Now draw your image crop for the image you want. It will be the matching ratio for the print.

As I said earlier. This topic is one that is a mystery until WHAMMO!  I get it.
If a video for you works better, just say yes. I'll be happy to make it and send it ASAP.

One more item to add.
In the long run, it is far easier to use the print cropping tools than editor cropping.
You will not be limited to the typed in ratio in Crop Lock. and have to resize the crop for other size prints.

You select the print size you want, add the image as you normally do, pop over to the Print Editor screen and slide that box around using that HAND cursor. At the same time add in some ZOOM with the built in vertical slider and get exactly the print you want.
You can do this for each size print you make of that image, and QU will remember the settings in case you want to make another print exactly the same.

Fred has it covered.  If you want to see it in action, I just made a related video last week that covers cropping when your print aspect ratio doesn't match the original image dimensions:
