hello,
I've got the Auto Roll Length turned ON.
I'm printing on a 24" roll and add an image to print which is about 16x12" original size.
I then go to increase the size to 20" on the short side using the Custom print size and specifying the SHORT side to be 20" (so the overall size will then be 20x30").
I've got Auto Cropping Off and Print Orientation Unlocked.
Still got the Auto Roll Length turned ON.

This is where the issue happens. when I click OK the print is increased in size but only to the width of the paper (in this case 24") making the image size about 24x16".
What I would expect to happen is the image rotates 90deg and the short side will then be 20" and the paper size automatically resized to fit the new image size.

If I turn Auto Roll Lenght Off and make the paper size something like 24x36" there's no problem and it behaves exactly how I would expect it to.

Am I doing something wrong or is this a bug?

Which printer, John?
Using an Epson 7900, the page on screen must be vertical. No problem.
If I turn the page to Landscape, it turns off Auto.

OK now I tried it with Canon ipf 9000. Can't find a problem.

I set short side to 20.0 and let the long side fly. The only thing I cannot repeat is the That is pixel dimension.image size. So when I set short side to 20 inches, the long side will be determined by pixels
Better wait for Mike.

The current version doesn't support two open-ended sizes: an open-ended roll/page length plus an open-ended dimension for the print size.  The way to work around it is to specify your own size: if you want the short side to be 20 inches, select the specific size option and enter a size of 20x40 for example.  With crop off, it'll automatically shorten the 40 inch side to what it needs to be.  In the mean time, I'll see if I can improve that function in the next version.

Regards,
Mike

This has been fixed/improved in 2020.115 so that using the size by one side works better in conjunction with the auto roll length feature.

Mike
