When I have used unknown glossy paper, (OK it wasn't recently) I started with the settings and profiles of the glossy papers I did use. These turned out to actually work fairly well, and in fact only required me to lower the contrast a bit. Which I could give you something better than "take two aspirin and call me in the morning."
