Title: Media Type: Does it override the printer?
Post by: clinchfield on February 04, 2019, 09:01:25 PM
Does Media type in QU override the paper type selected on the printer's display?

For example, if I choose "Photo Paper Plus Semi-gloss" in QU under the Printers and Settings tab > Media type does it matter what paper type is displayed on my PRO-1000?

The media type dropdown is connected to the driver so if you select a media type via the dropdown, it makes that same selection in the driver: if you open the driver, you'll see that media type has been selected in the driver.  If the Pro-1000 display hasn't been updated yet, it's probably just because it is keyed off opening and closing the driver.  Long story short, no, it doesn't matter what is on the Pro-1000's display since the driver has been set properly.  Once the job starts printing, the Pro-1000 will know what paper is being used.
