On the videos I see a Box with the title of what is being saved e.g. Layout, card template, job etc
When I do it I get a nice black box with nothing in it as in the attached. Have I missed something?

Hi John,
It works fine here.
Are y0u sure you clicked the SAVE icon and the "J" button, and then typed in a name for your save?

As you can see, the Save confirmation is showing as it is supposed to.
Go over it again, and if it still doesn't work for you, give some step by step clicks and keys so I can try to repeat what you are doing.

Thanks Fred,
1) A4, Landscape, freehand selected.
2)Click on template. Red lines etc appear on page as usual.
3)File>Save
4) Fill in title box Test
5) Click save
6) Click job.
7) Empty black box appears.
Cool Quick screen grab before the box disappears.

I've noticed the length of the black box depends on the length of the name I put in.

Here's the long black box if I fill the title box with letters.

Two Questions...
As per sequence above, Click SAVE followed by Click JOB  *refers to the little box that appears asking if you want to SAVE the JOB or the settings?

Second question is what is the default button when you open the SAVE?
Between 3 and 4 above, what button is selected?
It looks like the J for Job is selected but want to be sure.
wathree.ssz@verizon.net   if you want to send me your email address and I can make a video for you..... or can you make a video and send to me (using WETRANSFER if the video is too large to email.)

Empty?
You use Invisible ink?

Seriously, I find something in your shots that I cannot repeat.
What is the sequence of events BEFORE you click FILE SAVE?

In other words, what size template "print" is selected?
You are showing the red circle around the scissors indicating you clicked Fit to Paper.
Yet the template size in the screen image is showing a medium size rotated square print.
How did you do that?
Fit to paper makes the print size the aspect ratio of the A4...
In order to make a square print, I have to use Custom and Specific size set to a square... (6 x 6) or similar.
If I do that, I have changed the size from Fit to Paper to 6 x 6 and I lose the circle scissor.

1) Whether I tick the little J box, then Save then Job or ignore little J box, tick Save then Job, it's all the same. ( also if I choose  any of J, S, L, P, O, A, but of course only get the second Confirm question with Job) Same if I try to overwrite a saved Job etc, click on Yes and then Joh, - same black box result.

2) The default on the save box at the bottom is Job, but if I alter that choice to save it's still the same.
All the saves work OK, it's just the empty black box.
I've just reinstalled Qimage and it's still the same.

What if you are in normal Optimal Spaced and some normal print size for the template,,, or instead of a template, you have a simple 5 x 7 print in the queue, do you still get the empty SAVE box?
I'll see if I can find Mike as soon as you reply.
Then we have something for him to try

Cross Posted there,
I can choose any paper size in the printer setting, any Print Properties size - fit to page, fit to paper, Custom etc, put in photos or Templates or templates with photos loaded. Then with any combination When I File, Save, put in File name and save as before I still seem to be using invisible ink, as you said. Everything works as expected except for the Black Box with no writing.
I'll go and have a play with the video driver and see if it's up to date.

OK John,
Found Mike...
All under control...
It has to do with the Windows theme you are using.
If you are set to Classic (Like XP) then you will get the empty confirmation box.

No need fpr you to change anything.
Mike is fixing it so that theme will show the text in the box.

Talk about from left field.
I would never have come up with that in a million years.

Fred,
I tried "normal Optimal Spaced and some normal print size...." tried all the drop downs from optimal space to Freehand and both normal sizes and custom sizes.
I've unistalled/reinstalled video driver and it's up to date. I also deep uninstalled Qimage and reinstalled, had to put in my email address and find my Qimage data folder, a bit scary for a moment.
All works well BUT the black box is still as it was.
I noticed when I was re-installing Qimage that when I'd done it when I clicked on Finish it went back to the start, so I had to jump out of it.
That's the second time today I've re-installed Qimage and each time it went back to the beginning again.

I switched to a Win 7 aero theme and the Black box was filled with my title, proof of Mike's wisdom.
I've switched back and wait for the update.

The wait is over.  The fix is in 105 now.  Smiley
