Hi,
Not sure how far back this issue goes, got it in v118/9 for sure.
There is an annoyance that occurs when I export an image from Lightroom directly into Qimage. After Lightroom finishes it's export, Qimage automatically opens with the image placed on the "paper". For example sometimes the paper backdrop in QI is in portrait mode but the image is imported in landscape. No biggie, I open print properties and click on the blue arrow for CCW but the image rotates in the CW direction so now it is upside down. Clicking either blue arrow will correct it and until another image is imported as above it works fine.

Thanks.

Good morning!

Could you please send the offending image so the issue can be tested?
You don't say what format the image is, so I can't guess at file size.

If it's email size, my email address is:  wathree.ssz@verizon.net

If too large to email, please use   https://www.wetransfer.com/
This is a free file transfer service.
Thanks,

Just thought of another thing to try
How about locking the orientation padlock in Qimage before you import.
I never imported other than drag images from Explorer, so I didn't try it.

I was finally able to repeat what you describe.
I can only make the orientation mismatch if (As I suggested in a previous post) you have the orientation padlock LOCKED.
Then the image exports into Qimage and Qimage will take it as exported.
Uncheck the Padlock.

Let us know.
If that fixes the problem, then no need to send the image.

I did the same tests as Fred with a landscape image but using SNS-HDR and exported from there.

Yes, I needed the orientation lock on for the image to appear as landscape on a portrait page with Print Placement set to Optimal/Spaced (default I think).
With Centre Placement and Orientation lock off, the landscape image was landscape on the portrait page.

Placement "Optimal/Spaced " is what it says and will rotate images on the page to get the "optimal" placement, so if that's set and the orientation is important, use the orientation lock.
Here endeth the lesson  Grin

I'll have to try your suggestions a little later and see how it works out for me.  What I don't want to have to do is remember to have to do something before I do something else.  Qimage is not necessarily open before I export to it so if I have to open Qimage, set it up first then go back and export then go back to Qimage again it won't be as smooth of a workflow as it could/should be.

Anyway, I will play with it.

Thanks.

Nothing to set first!
I didn't set anything. It just took me half a day to figure out how to open an image in Lightroom, and then the other half figuring out that I couldn't SAVE AS... but I did find export.
It worked the first time, every time, until I figured out how to spoil the export by locking the orientation.

There was nothing to change unless you leave Qimage set improperly when you last used it.

Just Pilot Error...

It wont be any different from the way it works for Fred & me! Except we do most things in QU so have a very smooth work flow  Wink

It does not matter whether QU is open or not. One time only, set Print Orientation to be locked and QU will remember that for all time until it's changed again.
If you want top quality prints you need to learn something about how the best software works, have you watched any of the Learning Videos?

The issue is not so much that it lands on the page in the wrong orientation the issue is that when I use the arrow to turn the image to the correct orientation it turns the wrong way. Shouldn't it turn in the direction of the arrow? I don't think any amount of explanation can convince me that is should work that way  Grin

This is different from the export from Lightroom issue. I assume you are OK there.
This rotation thing seems to be wrong on the first click of rotate. After that I can get it to rotate properly, BUT, then the rotated icon is on all the time.
I can repeat this one easily.

I will make a small video for Mike which makes it easy for him to repeat it at the office.

Thanks,

Thanks. I was mentioned in the first post. It's the more annoying of the two  Grin
