Title: Plugins Installation Question
Post by: myers284 on July 07, 2018, 06:17:49 PM
I now run Lightroom 6 and Photoshop Elements 2018.  However, several years ago, I tried a trial of Photoshop 5 CS and before that I was using Photoshop Elements 10.  When I install the current Qimage Ultimate plugins, the installation finds Lightroom 6 and Photoshop Elements 2018, no problem.  But the installation routine also reports that it cannot install to Photoshop 5 CS and Photoshop Elements 10.  That software has not been on my computer for years.  I have looked for any remnants of the old Adobe installation directories and old registry entries.  NOTHING.  I have even downloaded the cleanup tool from Adobe and run that.  How the plugin installation routine is finding these remnants is beyond me.  So what is the plugins installation routine reading that would make it think I still have this old software installed???

Thanks in advance for any responses.

It searches the Adobe tree in the Windows registry.  So if those still show up, there are just some orphaned entries in the Windows registry that didn't get taken out when you uninstalled those older versions.  I wouldn't worry about it: they shouldn't do any harm.

Thanks for your reply Mike.

Without meaning to get on my high horse, it is a shame big companies can't uninstall their products as well as they can install them.  Oh well.  :'(
