Title: Qimage problem with my new Canon Pro-100?
Post by: mike397x on September 28, 2017, 10:01:00 PM
I'm trying to print an image on a Moab paper, which is 300gsm.
\I keep getting an error message {I guess its from Canon?},that I must re-size my image ,to a certain setting they are recommending???????
I'm using 8 x 11in paper, have it size, so I have a 1/4in border, on all 4 sides of the paper
Because of this error message ,I am unable to complete the printing.

Any Ideas??
Thanks
Mike

Hi Mike,
I want to help, but I am afraid I don't have enough information.
What size print are you trying to make?
Please explain the meaning or what you did to I'm using 8 x 11in paper, have it size, so I have a 1/4in border, on all 4 sides of the paper

Please give us the error message and the recommendation.
Fred

Moab paper, which is 300gsm.

Mike,
I looked up Moab 300 gsm. It is a matte paper.
OK The Canon printers, (no reason given) have a peculiar reaction to certain matte papers, even their own brand.
I think I might have a handle on this.
See screen snaps.
I chose Fine Art paper 1   to simulate the MOAB. I got this error. Is that what you get?
It is forcing a 30mm border on you.
I beat that restriction by selecting the Matte N.

See screen snaps attached.
Is that what you are dealing with??
Fred

Fred,
The problem has returned, and I'm now using Canon Luster paper
My paper size is:8&1/2 x 11ins
I believe there is some sort of conflict with Qimage
I cant print anything..constant error messages..support code 1006

Mike
I looked up error 1006 and it asks how many yellow light flashes are you getting?

Gotta be something simple like paper not inserted properly.

I haven't counted the number of yellow flashes ,but I have a feeling your right
I will begin to use a thinner paper, and pay more attention if the paper is going in straight.
Also, when I load the paper in the middle loader. I get an error message ,that I have to change the size of the print, when I do this, I get the 1006 error message
Also, when I attempt to contact tech support, they tell me, because I am using Qimage, and a third party paper, they cannot help me,or,it is not recommended I should use 3rd. party papers

Right now,I managed to do 1 print, which came out extremely dark, yesterday I printed out the same image,& it came out perfect
A few of my inks are at 50%,the rest at 75%.

Again, thank you for your patience, and support,
Mike

Mike,
You spread the paper size feelers wide. Drop in the paper, and then slide the feelers inboard until they touch the sides of the paper.
Then you MUST close that cover or you will get an error.
You also must have the front door open or you will get an error.
You are not using the feed door behind the  printer, I hope.

yes,thats what I'm doing .....now.
I was under the assumption, my heavier papers, should be loaded from the rear feeder, but I guess I was wrong.
I am loading now, from the regular feeded, even my heavy papers,310 &,315 wgt,I load from the middle loader
All seems well now,no error messages,& my heart-burn has seized.

Thank you ,Sir.

All seems well now,no error messages,

All is well at Mike 397x 's  house.
Most of the confusion came from Canon's naming of it's printer slots.
Rear Tray is actually the front paper feed.
Rear feed in the very anal area of the printer is called The Manual Feed.
Easy to get mixed up, and then error messages pop out when  the wrong size paper is in the Manual feed, and it should be in the rear tray feed which is actually the front feed.
Got it?

Best part is that Mike and I got acquainted over the phone, and I slid him over to the "friend" side of the ledger.

Fred
