In the "Convert Images in the job" dialogue box is a button with a yellow light bulb (?) indicating whether or not an icc profile should be embedded.  I cannot tell the difference between the button being or on or off.  <heh-heh>

Is this trying to tell me something, or is there a problem with the interface?  (Or in my face where the old eyes are!   Wink )

Hi George,
The yellow bulb is a signal light just like a traffic green light.   It is there to tell you: OK to Go!  You don't turn it off or on; Qimage does. It is a "SLOW CURVE AHEAD" type message. It tells you that if you pick an improper  file format to convert,  it wont. (Select BMP and the bulb goes off)
Also included is a warning message should you select a nutzo profile to convert to..... It wont convert.

You will get this message.

Hi Fred,

When I push the button, I get a different message, as per the screen shot.

I tried every profile on my machine that I (and Qimage) could find, and none of them made a change to the appearance of the button, it always looks like it is on.  Maybe I just don't have a bad profile?

I know it is a bit squirrely, but let's go over it again.
The light will go out when you change to a file that does not support a conversion, such as BMP or GIF.
Give that a try. Put a dot in the BMP or GIF hole as if you wanted to make one.  The light goes out.

The screen snap sign I showed was what you will see if you try to use a profile that Qimage or Windows does not support like a Grayscale or CMYK.
That sign is saying, Hey Dumbo, that profile wont work so I am ignoring it. I'll make the copy but no conversion.

I hope that is better.

That made the light go on!  (In my head.)   File type.  I get it now.

Thank you, Fred,
