Decided to try out QI-U (next to most recent ver) by uploading some recently shot raws from a Canon older D30 and all I see are blue image thumbnails. I tried it a couple of times from a recently burned cd and the original flashcard with the same result. The images opened perfectly in PS CS3. So what is the problem?

My suspicion is that the program did not recognize the camera type but I don't see any way to direct the program to that camera type.

Suggestions? Thank you.

Aaah, the old blue thumbnail disease!
Seriously, this is caused by a bad or imcorrect monitor profile being set in Qimage as a Monitor profile.
First move, it to Click View and Rebuild thumbs. Still Blue? Change the monitor profile to one that belongs to the monitor. If you never created one, use the sRGB monitor profile that comes with Qimage and which is usually also found in your stash of profiles.
C:\Windows\system32\spool\drivers
You can get to this easily by clicking the blue ball next to Monitor Profile in Qimage.

Then do another View, Rebuild thumbs.

Fred,

Thank you for your help.

Tried different monitor profiles and it didn't help in this case unfortunately.

As it turns out, raw images from a Canon XSI with .cr2 fille types worked fine in QI-U but still could not get the .crw files from an older Canon d30 to look right ( all blue ).

So it seems the problem is QI-U does not recognize the .crw raw files.

It would be appreciated if Mike could enable this older raw file type.

The D30 is already listed as a supported camera. I have a few D60 CRW files from a friend, they are fine.
How about trying re-naming just one file to .CR2 and see what happens, I seem to remember this trick working in other circumstances in the past.

Terry,

Thank you for your suggestion. It sounded like a very good idea, but unfortunately it did not work.

I am open to ideas. As mentioned, true .cr2 raw files open fine.
