Is this just my setup or a bug?
With a couple of rows of thumbnails showing, right click on thumbnail to Edit IPTC or Ctrl Alt I. When you try to close this edit window only the part above the thumbnails disappears until you click anywhere on the remains of the window. The higher the thumbnails the more window stays but only the bit hiding the thumbnails. If you move the Edit info window around, another window appears each time you move it, you can fill the screen except over the right hand side print queue part.
None of this happens with the search window.
I think I'd like some info on the new search button. When I click on the blue binoculars I can find Folders that have info but I can't work out how to use the Search in Photos option because nothing seems to happen. Is this different from the thumbnail right click search?

I cannot repeat any of your problem here. It seems like your display driver is playing up.

Yes, it is different; it is not for IPTC data which is only for jpegs. The new QU data base feature is for folders and all types of images.
To the left of the blue binoculars there are 2 boxes: D is for folder Description tag words and C is for Creator.
On each thumb, bottom left, there is an"i", click that for adding image tag words.
