I bought QImage Ultimate in april this year, with plugins. Registered to: david.norfolk@gmail.com
Registration valid until: 2018/04/27
Version 2017.123

QImage was working, plugins less so.
Plugin shows as installed in Adobe Elements 15 (Help System) but when I try to export to QU, it says "could not complete the export because of a program error"
Plugin shows as installed in Lightroom 6 but when I try to use it (File:plugin Extras) it says it can't find G:\programdata\ddisoftware\QImage\plugins\export (I keep my photos and catalogue on G:)

Now, when I run QImage, it says: C:\Program Data\ddisoftware\QImage\SRGB.icm could not be found. Colourspace for your images will default to sRGB. But I want ARGB and there wasn't a message about ARGB.icm being missing.

I am concerned that it didn't install properly, although the install didn't (as I remember it) produce error messages.

What is the best way to proceed?

Hi  David,
My suggestion would be to uninstall Qimage Ultimate, and then reinstall, but pay particular attention to the installation boxes.
Install properly as per the default locations.
Please pay particular attention to the screen snaps attached.
Snap 002 is showing you the proper location for the initial installation of the program.
Snap 003 is showing the proper location of the data that  Qimage must locate to operate.

After you get it running properly, and you wish to migrate your data to a different location, Snap 004 shows you the utility that will do that for you.
Snap 005 continues that.

Note!!!!
The installation screens remember the last time it installs, so do not assume that you can just click Next Next Next and it will install properly.
If you changed the path, it will still be in that configuration.
Please put it back to default until we get  it all working properly.

Note!!

If you still get problems, temporarily disable your anti virus and reinstall.

Hope this helps,
Fred

Thanks, that sounds like the right issues to work on. I  haven't use QI Ultimate for some time. If I want to reinstall, I want to get the latest version, I guess; my license is valid until april 2018 or thereabouts; do I just download the latest version? But I'll need to get a new download key, won't I? And does the download include the plugins? I'm sure it'll be clear when I start doing it, but I'd like to be clear on requirements first...

Thanks, David

Reinstall seems to have got it all working - thanks - including plugins. I seemed to be already using the default folders, so I'm not sure what was going on.

Just one issue - user issue, not bug, I think. I have 2 monitors in use with Windows 10 and profile both monitors. Most applications seem to use the appropriate profile for each monitor automatically. I set  QI to use my Eizo photo monitor profile, as that is where I work on photos. But QImage Ultimate reports that my QI profile doesn't match the profile set in Windows (which seems to be for the screen on the laptop which runs Windows) But windows seems to know that it has two screens with different profiles.

I am finding the QI dialogue box confusing. I don't want QI to always use the Eizo profile, but only to use it when displaying on the Eizo! If I am using QI on the laptop, I want it to use the laptop screen profile. How should I set this up? I can't find anything in Help, but that may just be me.

Thanks, David

QU normally uses the Monitor profile set as the Windows default and if the the one set in QU is different asks if you want to use the default or leave as set in QU (see 1st & 2nd screen shots below).
When a laptop has a separate monitor connected, it is detected by W10 but still only one profile is set as default, that would normally be the laptop profile. However, some calibration software would set the separate monitor as default. You could change the default in W10 but it's much easier to leave it and change the profile in QU on the properties tab when the Eizo monitor is used.  As far as I know, Windows cannot determine which monitor you are actually using and change the profile accordingly and the software being used needs the ability to change the profile, as does QU. See the 3rd screen shot.

Thanks. I'd better check what profile Lightroom is using, I think! I can cope OK with the way QU works..

QU gives colour management a high priority so has all information there in front of you - nothing hidden in some lower level menu!  Cool
