I have a situation where I have several large images as a PDF file typically.
I need to be able to print the several pages as one continuous/seamless image.
The size can be extremely large/long as I work with genealogy charts.

It looks like QImage does not support PDF but I could get the pages as png or jpeg
but still need to print them seemlessly. Again they can be very large.

What are the limitations on printing this type of document requirement?

I know there is some expensive RIP software out there that will do that but I don't
have $3000.00 to purchase those.

Thanks for any input.

Hi Kim,
The only limit that I know of is your computer's limit.
I have seen a One gigabyte file + whiz through. You should be fine as a JPG

On my Epson 4800, the length limit of a custom page size is 590 inches. I believe Qimage will handle anything your printer will, assuming you don't run out of memory, and with some tricks, can even do more than your printer specs, by printing images side by side with no space between. The experts on here can help you with the tricks if you need more than your printer driver can normally handle.

If you could tell us which printer you intend to use the reply can be more affirmative.

If the printer knows a banner mode then the method described in the Qimage Learn by Example 6a manual text is the route to go.
Make 100% quality JPEGs, the white spaces in gen trees will shrink the image files enough for this kind of jobs. If that is not enough you can even stitch images lengthwise on the Qimage print page. Roll length is the limit in the end I guess.
