Title: Corrupted 5D 2 files
Post by: mfamo on June 16, 2009, 09:57:55 PM
I've used Qimage successfully for many years, first with a 10D and then a 5D.

Since switching to a 5D mark 2 some of my images appear corrupted when they are viewed or printed with Qimage.

The corruption artifacts include: image will become black and white with many large obscuring bands traversing the image and this image will be a 3 x 3 (9 small images) composite of the original image.  The corrupted image will appear this way both in the thumbnail/preview and in outputed form from the printer.

Can someone help me?  Sometimes the images are prepped in LR, sometimes in ACR/PS CS3, sometimes in both.  They are 16 bit TIFFs.

I think Qimage is a jewel, but having experienced the repeating thumbnail problems, and now this, I am a bit on my heels over the program.

Thank you very much.

Make sure you aren't saving your TIFF's as "per channel": they should be "interleaved".  The "per channel" encoding is not compatible with many programs including Qimage.  The option is usually found on the last dialog that appears just before the TIFF file is saved.

Are these RAW files?
These sound like files you created in  Photo Shop and have some of the SAVE AS settings incorrect.
Please see attachment
Should work after you set whatever application created the files to the SAVE AS parameters shown.
