While trying to select 4x6 paper, both in printer and in Qimage, I get the following error.

Function address Oxead71a45 caused a protection fault.  (exception code 0xc0000005)  Some or all property page(s) may not be displayed.

Clicking ok brings up the same error message.  Clicking it again and it goes away.  However, the paper size always goes back to letter size, no matter how many times I try.  This is on a friends computer, not mine.   Running Qimage Professional v2010.210 on a Win 7 computer.

Are you saying that error message appears in any application trying to set up the printer properties? Is it just QImage? Can you make adjustments to the printer from within the Win 7 control panel or equivalent?

That error message translates to an application privilege ram address access error in an area of protected memory. If the problem exists outside QImage then I suggest looking for an updated printer driver. If Win 7 is the 64 bit version especially check for a new driver. If it is just the 4x6 paper selection and other sizes work then again check the driver version and reinstall it..

If the problem happens only within Q then try starting it with a shortcut with its advanced property to run as admin (that is a program access level, not a user access level). That should alleviate any system access problems when Q reads the printer driver to return its parameters.

It is Win 7 Home edition 64-bit OS.

However, I figured out the problem.  She had the printer profile turned off in Qimage.  She doesn't use or understand the program very well.  It keeps the paper size now.  It was late last night, and I just missed that.  Dunce cap on.
