Title: Printer Profile
Post by: ChuckR on January 15, 2010, 07:56:50 PM
I'm running Qimage Studio Edition, Version 2020.107.  I have a new printer profile. If I turn off color management in my print driver and then select my new printer profile to replace the "Let printer/driver manage color" in the Printer ICC in Job Properties, am I good to go to print using my new printer profile?

The answer is no!
May I ask what Printer and what profile?
Most profiles require that you set the driver to "OFF" , sometimes called No color adjustment, or No colro management.
The correct paper selection must be made, quality selection and printer intervention off.

In Qimage, the profile that you bought or downloaded goes into the job properties box in the row marked Prtr icc
If you need more detail I can attach more screen snaps.

and, important, first of all you have to install the profile into the correct folder, and 'activate' it. (can't remember what that term is). The folder name may depend on the version of windows being used. The supplier of the profile should give you the printer paper settings/quality, etc. to use for your printer, I've no idea if they did that.

Best wishes,

Ray

I would say Yes. This is the normal setup for QI, with the correct profile in the 'Prtr ICC:' window and colour management turned off in the printer driver. For Epson  printers this usually means selecting 'ICM' and selecting 'Off (No Color Adjustment)'.
