Title: Printing pics processed in Capture NX2
Post by: carthurjohn on February 28, 2010, 01:03:30 PM
Hi,

I'm having problems printing off some photos that I've post-processed in Capture NX2 as NEFs and then saved as JPEGs.

My monitor is not calibrated, but that has not stopped me getting good pics before. Now though I have noticed that there is a significant difference between the quality and punch of the pics as they appear on screen in Qimage and how they print out.

My Colour space in NX2 is Adobe RGB and the colour profile I'm embedding in the saved JPEGs is to print on Canon Photo Paper Plus Glossy (SP2) on a Canon MP 610 printer. I've selected the correct profile in Qimage and followed the instructions for setting up the printer as provided on the Qimage website.

Additionally I've noticed that a couple of the pics in Qimage look 'frosted' (sorry, not a very technical term, but that is how it looks to me!) when I click on the selected image and open up the image in the Qimage editor, although they look OK in the thumbnails and when selected for printing .

I would be grateful for any advice on what I may be doing wrong and how to put it right.

Thanks,

carthurjohn
