I could not reason out why sometimes it crashed on opening after a brief view opening thumbnails. I finally deduced it was relative to a specific folder I created of downloaded test targets. I could only open QImage after a full reset and then going into that folder.

I attempted to look at each with an older editor I have and on two from the same source in that folder it complained about the file format. I removed those two and QImage became stable.

On your next version could we have some kind of file opening error trapping dialog regarding the specific file name followed by a close if necessary?

It might have been reversed byte order in an older Mac saved .tif file or .jpg file. I recall the links as Getty Large and Getty Small.
