Trojan Horse?

Avast (version 4.8.1368 using VPS file 091203-0) is reporting the following Trojan Horse in Qimage.exe Q10-104:
Win32:Delf-MZG [Trj]
I am no longer able to start Qimage on my system. When I try I get the following error message:
"Windows cannot access the specified device, path, or file. You may not have the appropriate permissions to access the item."
I have tried installing older versions and I keep getting the same warning.
Please advise.
Thanks for your help.

After a little invetigation, there appears to be many people reporting this error with trusted programs that were running perfectly fine before the last VPS file update from Avast.
So it would seem to be an Avast error, not anything to do with Qimage.
Hopefully Avast will rectify the problem and everything will be back to normal soon.
Or at least I hope so because I can't live without my Qimage

In the mean time, can you exclude the Qimage program folder from virus checking? Most AV programs allow you to do this.

Just 2 cents from me, Fred. Had a similar experience with Grisoft's AVG. It found my EXE file from a Super Sound Recorder that I bought, and declared it to be a Trojan Horse.
I had to email tech support at AVG who asked me to send them a zipped copy of the EXE file that AVG was deemed a Trojan Horse.
In the meantime, the Sound recorder would not run.
I had to reinstall after every scan, but it would run between scans.
Perhaps, you are scanning for viruses on boot up and that knocks out Qimage on that False Positive grab of the EXE file.
See if you can kill the automatic scans.... some on boot up, and some scan in the background all the time.
Please write to Avast or you will be waiting a long time.

Thanks for the replies.
This appears to have been an Avast problem (the first I've seen after using Avast for years) and it was rectified this morning when they sent out an updated version of the virus database.
I reinstalled Qimage and everything is fine now.

Updated database took care of the problem for me also.

Malwarebytes had a similar problem today. All of a sudden, a scan showed 140 infected files marked Trojan.Downloader. They quickly replaced the problem database and now all is well. It's odd that both happened around the same time though.
