Title: i1 Display2 how long does it last? Post by: Sandy on March 14, 2011, 09:45:52 PM I bought the i1Display2 with iMatch3 software 2 years ago. It worked fine until a few weeks ago when it stopped being recognised by the PC (indeed by both of my PCs). I contacted X-rite who were pretty helpful. Anyway, they concluded it was indeed the puck that had died. I have a recollection of others having premature failures with the i1 hardware. Before I consider buying another i1 Display2 or even the ColorMunki I would be grateful for comment on the robustness of X-rite hardware.
I'm trying to persuade X-rite to assist eg I buy the i1LT and they provide the software key to upgrade to the Display2 but so far they are just telling me to buy the (expensive) ColorMunki. Sandy Title: Re: i1 Display2 how long does it last? Post by: Terry-M on March 14, 2011, 10:45:27 PM Hi Sandy,
Quote I would be grateful for comment on the robustness of X-rite hardware. I've had one for over 4 years now and all is still good.If it failed, I would buy a Colormunki, not only is that more versatile, it's a spectrophotometer rather that a colorimeter like the i1 D2 Terry Title: Re: i1 Display2 how long does it last? My first i1d2 died after 2 years of use and another spyder lasted little longer than i1d2 but not much of difference. I’m using a Spyder3 Studio SR package now and I’m pretty happy with it. It's extremely accurate, and easy to use, plus you can use it on as many computers as you wish..no extra charges. Mike |
