I tried to attach a paper profile to an e-mail for a customer today, but when the 'browse for file' pop up box opens to attach it, it will not show the 'spool' folder in the Win system 32 folder tree to get to the drivers- color folders.
This is on a Win7 Pro machine.
When I attempt to do the same at home on a Win 7 Home Edition machine, I have no problem digging down to the 'color' folder and adding it as an attachment.
I checked to see if the 'folder view' in the folder tools dialogue box is set to 'view all folders including hidden folders' and it is.
Is there something I'm missing, or special permissions to get to certain system folders?

Very strange as you point out.
As an experiment, in Qimage Ultimate, click the Blue Ball to the left of the Printer Profile which opens the dialogue box.
See screen snaps attached.
Then click the Browse button on that box.
Do you see the Spool folder there?

Can you browse to the folder in the normal way from explorer?
If so, you can either right click on the file and use "Send to" your e-mail client or drag the file to e-mail client when it's open. I assume MS e-mail programs allow you to do that, if that's what you are using  Roll Eyes

This is a leftover of a Vista bug that I reported to Microsoft years ago.  If you have the problem, it's likely not even Windows Explorer can browse to the folder.  The strange, thing is, if you type or paste in the folder name, c:\windows\system32\spool\drivers\color, it will go there!  You just can't browse to it (in any program).  On some systems running the software (your mail program) in "run as administrator" mode will fix the problem.  On others, you just have to type or paste the full path into the file/open dialog and you'll get there.

I posed the question on the Microsoft Windoze 7 forum and got a very good reply which makes sense. Just cannot figure why you can do it on XP and Win7 Home Edition.
I guess  protection is getting somewhat better.

Here's what the answer was...

"I'm going to assume you are using web-based email instead of an email program (like Outlook).  For security reasons, Internet Explorer is isolated from critical system areas.  Without this sandbox known as Protected Mode, any website you visit could have access to see and modify your core system files.  This has been exploited countless times to infect users with backdoor viruses and trojans that are nearly impossible to recover from cleanly.
 While it's possible to circumvent these protective measures, my best advice to you is to open the folder yourself, copy the file to your desktop, then attach it from there."

which is precisely how I wound up doing it ;-)
