Passing on some information, it may be useful for someone  Smiley
For some time I've used a free program called Exifer to copy image data from image to image because Qimage does not do this when images are converted.
However, development of Exifer has now ceased and I needed something else. The Exifer site recommended PhotoMe but that is not fully developed and does not yet import/export data.

The other program recommended is ExifTools. This is a command line program which is ok for those who understand how to use such applications.  Roll Eyes
It would be nice if there was some way of using it from within Qimage.
Fortunately, someone has produced a GUI fro the program that enables many of the features via an easy to use interface   Cool

I have attached a screen shot of the GUI below.
It's an easy program to use and unlike Exifer, will copy from raw images.

Sounds like another useful prog.  Thanks for drawing our attention to it.

I used PhotoMe once to prove that my Pentax K20 had a faulty meter and get a replacement camera, you never know when a prog is going to be a life saver.

It looks like the web site (http://www.sno.phy.queensu.ca/~phil/exiftool/) is down at present; I was on there a couple of days ago.
I assume you tried the link from the ExiftoolGUI web site; I gave that link in my original post.
I'll try again tomorrow.

I tried the link in the gui tools, but that was "broken", as well as several others. I will try the sno.phy.... link on Monday as well. I have several HDR images made via Photomatix that I would like to tag with the same info and it sounds like exiftools would do the trick..

That is ok from here, have you got DNS problems?
I still can't get onto the Phil Harvey page for the exiftool download although the main Queens University Ca pages are ok.
The exiftool link seems to be some completed research project section of the main web site.

Try again now, it's back with a new version V7.97  Grin
Let me know if you want any help "installing" but it's just a matter of unzipping, renaming the exiftool(-k).exe file and putting that and the GUI files into a folder with a shortcut to the ExifToolGUI.exe file.
It's all in the instructions.
BTW. I have tried importing from a CR2 to a tiff file successfully.

Terry-  I was able to download it from the link this evening and changed the file name and it seems to work; hopefully I will be able to figure out how to use it to modify several files at once-  thanks for your help !!

Are you saying all the date/time shot, f/stop, shutter speed (basic EXIF) is gone and you copy it from another file?

Qimage copies the basic data when it's jpeg to jpeg but not when raw is converted to jpeg or tiff. I don't know the technical reasons why this is so, but it is a nuisance sometimes  Sad
I only bother to copy to a new image when it's useful to do that for me, which is not often.
