sRGB or AdobeRGB when home printing, which is best

Hi all

A quick colour space question, hopefully

All my equipment, Camera, Scanner, Printer and Editing Software all support both sRGB and AdobeRGB so which is the best one to use on a home printing setup

Do I go sRGB or AdobeRGB on everything.

If you are shooting in RAW mode, then there is no colorspace and you choose one in Qimage. In Raw options.
You best use the camera profile that comes with Qimage, second choice would be Adobe RGB.

If you are shooting in JPG mode, then it is the camera setting that chooses the color space. Choose Adobe RGB
Qimage will see that tag, and open your images in Adobe rgb

To simplify. This is not a rule, but a guide statement. sRGB is generally for screen viewing. When you take your Adobe images and create email copies, most times it will change them to sRGB to view better on screen.

Thanks for the reply

At the moment I am shooting in JPEG and have the camera set to AdobeRGB

I edit in Photoshop and have that set to AdobeRGB

I print on an Epson Printer and that is also set to AdobeRGB

I also have an Epson Scanner and that is also set to AdobeRGB

There is so much confusion in the internet about this subject that I was just wondering if I have gone down the correct route for home printing would I be better off just using sRGB for everything or am I doing it correctly by going down the AdobeRGB route.

I don't e.mail photos or use any web based printer or display services, its all Camera, Process & Print and all in house.

Your settings are fine!

Just consider experimenting with shooting RAW, and using a camera profile for your color space, and using a printer profile to make your prints.
All the colors will be accurately presented throughout the process.
Using Qimage Ultimate will make the process so easy as it automatically develops your raw shots, uses the camera profile automatically, and is child's play to place and use a printer profile.

Just for curiosity, you don't have to say.... what camera and what printer??
