Hi Mike.

I have enjoyed using Qimage for a few years. Not that I am an expert but I do get pretty good results if I don't say myself :-)  I have been a LR user since version one, but with today's purchase of two profiles (Olympus E-1 and E-3) and FlashPipe I am hoping to start a transition to a DDIsoftware work flow with final editing in CS3. It's going to take a while to figure everything out so look for some pretty basic questions in the next few weeks :-)

I am pretty happy with LR. It has a nice user interface and a nice, at least for me way of managing my photographs. So I don't make the switch without hesitation.

I am making this switch primarily for three reasons:

a) Qimage really does a nice job. Not only in printing, but maybe as important for me it has made the complex task of printing easier by providing the tools necessary to easily set up print jobs. You see I really don't want to spend the time figuring out in detail how to print multiple images on one sheet, or to worry that I don't have a setting correct. I am able to set my printer profile, drag my images onto the printing area, set my sharpness and go. That means a lot.

b) You're attention to customer service and quick resolution to problems cannot be underestimated.

c) I believe in supporting "the little guy".

I now start my transition from LR to Qimage. I don't have any idea how to set up my work flow. I will need to Learn how to use FlashPipe and how to convert Raw in Qimage Studio. Hopefully I will find a post that shows a nice flow from FP to Qimage to CS3 and back.

One more thing.... Please support the Olympus E-p1 as soon as you can. You see, since I purchased it over a month ago, my Olympus E-3 and E-1 haven't seen the light of day...

Best Regards,

Ned

Hi Ned,
I'm sure you will not be disappointed moving across to Qimage for your work flow.

There's a user guide for raw available to download, good stuff, I wrote it, ta da  Grin

Keep them coming, we'll do our best, and it gives others, even those who are not users, the opportunity to learn more about the software.

Thanks for supporting the little guy!  I'm flattered to be called that since I'm on my way to that goal: lost 17 pounds since June but still about 20 more to go.  Wink

Let us know how you typically use the other tools like LR and I'm sure we can help with a suggested workflow for using FlashPipe and Qimage.
