Mike,
It seems that every time I use FlashPipe and then re-boot my PC I get a Windows - No Disc Exception Processing Message.
See attached screen snap.
This has been happening with  with the last 2 or 3 versions of FP but I've left it until I was reasonably sure the problem is related to FP. I may be wrong of course  Roll Eyes
Any suggestions please, FP problem or my PC? I'm running XP.

I've had this same error message for a couple of weeks.  It occured when the computer froze during a misdownload using flashpipe.  I pulled the card from the reader, restarted the computer and the error message appeared.  I tried a number of cleaning programs to no avail.

I have an HP and use Windows XP.  After seeing your notice I searched Google and came up with the following message on some bulletin board.  It worked.  The message did not appear when I rebooted.  Here's the message of someone who had called HP:

•   Here is your answer after 3 hours online with HP
Here are the steps.

Click on Start > Run.

Type in as regedit and click on ok.
You will get a popup window as Registry.


Click on + sign at HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE.


Click on + sign at SYSTEM.


Click on + sign at CurrentControlSet.


Click on + sign at Control.

Click on Windows there.


Can you see ErrorMode key on the right side panel?


0X00000000(0)

Double click on ErrorMode and change the value data 2 and click on ok.


Now, you have to restart the PC, and after that you will not get the
windows NO disk error

Thanks the the information.
I edited the registry as suggested (after making a restore point) and it does seem to work.
I did not get the error message every time I re-booted, only after using FP and once the message was cleared, it did not appear on the next re-boot unless I'd used FP.
I've checked out that procedure and all is good  Smiley

I get a similar but not identical screen when I leave the card in the reader, close Flashpipe, then remove the card:



I usually just remove the card which closes Flashpipe, but it is a nuisance when I forget (Windows XP Pro)

This is an operating system/configuration issue.  What is drive F: on your system?  Is it a flash drive?  If not, FlashPipe should never see it or querry the drive.  If it does, then the drive is not registered properly with the operating system.  Click on "Help", "Flash drive diagnostics" and let me know what you see.

The F drive is the CF slot on the external card reader, the rest are the other slots on the reader or the slots on my internal reader (which has decided it's USB1). More than likely it is my system at fault, as it's easily confused and in need of a clean install (like me  Grin)

Hmm.  OK.  Since it's an external reader, it might only appear as a drive intermittently to Windows and that might cause the problem.  My next suggestion would be to see if there might be a firmware or driver update for the external flash reader you are using as drive F:.

Just a confirmation, the registry edit suggested in reply #1 has solved my problem. I've checked using the PC's built-in card reader and an external USB reader and there' has been no recurrence of the error message after several uses of FlashPipe and PC start-up.  Smiley
