Title: slow
Post by: davidbogdan on July 11, 2011, 08:27:27 PM
Here we go,
I've used Qimage since, well, forever...01 or when ever Mike started. I'm running the Studio edition and since I upgraded to Win 7 64 bit with a new dell quad, it takes breakfast and part of my lunch to load. I decided to check out Ultimate in demo mode and hoped for some speed but it's a no go. I've searched for a fix for months with no luck. Am I stuck with lightroom or is there a fix?

Please explain what you mean when you say, takes forever to load.
To load the program to run? To load an image into where?
What exactly are you getting?

Help.

Any function from clicking on the icon to start the program including printer page setup, print properties, printer properties... almost any function having to do with printer communication takes 30 secs or  longer to respond.  I have my 7800 selected as default as well as check mark in the USB virtual printer port indicating that documents will be printed in the first free checked port. CS3 and Lightroom spit it right out. On the other side the images load and move in and out of the editor fairly quickly. Don't want to go back to  XP.

Sounds like some aggressive anti virus program or anti malware program checking out any file movement in the computer.
Qimage *does* check your printer driver before it does anything else.
Try using HELP in Qimage, and RESET PRINTER.
If still no joy, try uninstall/reinstall of the printer driver.
